After lunch, enjoy a scenic drive from Entebbe to Jinja, known as Uganda's "Land of the Nile" because the mighty River Nile originates from Lake Victoria in Jinja. The River Nile is one of the longest and most iconic rivers in the world, stretching approximately 6,650 kilometres through northeastern Africa. Flowing northward through eleven countries, including Uganda, Sudan, and Egypt, it eventually reaches the Mediterranean Sea. Specifically, the White Nile, one of the two major tributaries of the Nile, begins its journey in Jinja at Lake Victoria, while the second major tributary, the Blue Nile, starts in Ethiopia. John Hanning Speke, a British explorer, is famously credited with discovering Lake Victoria as the primary source of the Nile River in 1858. His discovery was a monumental achievement in the exploration of Africa and played a key role in understanding the origins of the Nile, a mystery that had fascinated explorers for centuries. The Nile Memorial in Jinja commemorates Speke's discovery of the Nile's source. The site has become a popular historical landmark where visitors can reflect on Speke's remarkable journey and the legacy of his work. Upon arrival in Jinja, your first stop will be the Source of the Nile, where the longest river in Africa begins its incredible 6,650 km journey to the Mediterranean Sea. Visit the Site Where Gandhi’s Ashes Were Scattered in the Nile River
Next, pay a visit to the Mahatma Gandhi Monument, a significant historical site near the riverbank. The Mahatma Gandhi Monument in Jinja, Uganda, stands as a powerful tribute to the legacy of the Indian leader. As you leave Kampala, the bustling capital, you will head southwest on a well-maintained road that takes you through Uganda’s stunning countryside. On the way, you will stop at the famous Equator line in Kayabwe, where you can stand in two hemispheres at once, take memorable photos, and visit the Equator marker and nearby souvenir shops. This geographic landmark is a popular tourist attraction, offering visitors the unique opportunity to stand in two hemispheres at once - both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. In Kayabwe, a monument marks the spot where the Equator crosses, providing a symbolic and educational experience about the Earth’s rotation.

Scenic Crater Lakes
Afternoon we will go for a crater walk in Kibale and explore the stunning crater lakes surrounding Kibale. These picturesque lakes, formed by ancient volcanic activity, offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The lakes provide an excellent opportunity for relaxation and reflection after your chimpanzee trekking adventure. Crater Walk at Kibale is a unique and scenic experience that takes you through the beautiful landscapes surrounding Kibale National Park. These picturesque lakes, formed by ancient volcanic activity, offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. During the hike, you can observe the local flora and fauna, including birds, butterflies, and sometimes primates like the red colobus or black-and-white colobus monkeys. The walk is typically guided by local experts who share insights into the geological history, biodiversity, and cultural significance of the region.
Kibale Village Tour
Later visit a tribal village in Kibale National Park. The Batooro tribe is often considered the caretakers of Kibale National Park. The Batooro are one of the indigenous groups living near the park, and their ancestral lands are closely connected to the area's natural resources. The villagers often welcome visitors with open arms, sharing their customs, dances, and songs that have been passed down through generations. Later return to Lodge. Bwindi National Park
After a hearty breakfast, bid farewell to the lush landscapes of Kibale as you embark on a scenic journey to the legendary Bwindi Impenetrable National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and sanctuary for over half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The transfer from Kibale National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a scenic journey through some of Uganda’s most breathtaking landscapes. The drive unfolds like a moving postcard, taking you through rolling tea plantations, picturesque villages, and breathtakinghighlands that define Uganda’s natural beauty. Along the way, stop for a delightful lunch break in a charming town, where you can stretch your legs and soak in the local atmosphere.
As you approach Bwindi, the terrain becomes more rugged, offering stunning views of the Virunga Mountains and the rolling hills of Kisoro. The road also winds through local communities where you can experience authentic rural Ugandan life. This transfer is more than just a drive; it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and cultural richness of Uganda, making the journey to Bwindi an adventure in itself. Upon arrival, you will transfer to Lodge. Settle into your lodge, nestled at the edge of the forest, and take in the serene surroundings. A cultural night with the Batwa community
Crown the evening with a vibrant traditional Ugandan dance performance by the Batwa community, an indigenous group often referred to as the "Keepers of the Forest." The Batwa, who once lived as hunters and gatherers within Bwindi’s dense jungles, share their rich cultural heritage through rhythmic drumming, storytelling, and energetic dance. This intimate cultural encounter offers a deeper understanding of their traditions, resilience, and deep-rooted connection to the forest—a truly enriching end to an already unforgettable day.

As of recent estimates, there are around 1,063 mountain gorillas left in the wild, and Uganda is home to about 500 to 600 of these incredible creatures. Most of these gorillas reside in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which hosts around 450 to 500 gorillas. Gorilla trekking in Uganda is one of the most extraordinary wildlife experiences in the world, offering an unparalleled opportunity to see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. These gorillas are located in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, near the borders of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, visitors can trek through its dense, mist-covered forests to encounter one of the 19 habituated gorilla families. Bwindi is home to nearly half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas, making it a top destination for gorilla trekking. The trekking experience in Bwindi is thrilling but can be physically demanding due to the rugged terrain, but the reward of encountering a silverback gorilla or watching a family interact in the wild is absolutely worth the effort.

After a hearty breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by expert rangers, who will share insights on gorilla behavior, trekking guidelines, and conservation efforts. After a hearty breakfast at Bwindi Lodge, you’ll say farewell to Gorilla Land, a place where you’ve perhaps encountered the magnificent mountain gorillas and experienced the richness of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The drive unfolds like a moving postcard, taking you through Uganda’s breathtaking highlands, past vibrant local markets, terraced hillsides, and tea plantations blanketed in mist. With memories in your heart, you’ll begin your journey towards Rwanda. As you leave Uganda behind, the border crossing into Rwanda introduces you to the lush, rolling hills that have earned Rwanda its nickname, "The Land of a Thousand Hills. Upon crossing into Rwanda, you’ll be greeted by the country’s trademark beauty—its thousand hills, verdant fields, and the peaceful tranquillity that defines much of the Rwandan countryside. Upon arrival at Akagera National Park, you’ll feel the shift in scenery—from Rwanda’s famed mountainous terrain to the vast open savannahs, a rare sight in this lush, hilly country. Check into your lodge, nestled on the edge of the park with sweeping views of the endless wilderness, and take a moment to unwind after your journey.
Evening Game Drive in Akagera National Park
Akagera National Park is Rwanda's premier savannah reserve, offering a striking contrast to the country's lush, mountainous terrain. Located in the eastern part of Rwanda, near the border with Tanzania, the park is a haven for wildlife and nature lovers. Stretching across vast grasslands, rolling hills, and tranquil Lake Ihema, Akagera is home to a variety of animals, including elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, lions, and rhinos. If time allows, we can enjoy a short sundowner game drive, catching glimpses of giraffes, zebras, elephants, and antelopes as they bask in the golden glow of sunset. This park is home to an array of wildlife, from elephants and buffaloes to lions and rhinos, offering a truly diverse safari experience. The park’s open plains, framed by hills and lakes, are a haven for birdwatchers, with over 500 species recorded in the area.

Akagera National Park
Morning Game Drive at Akagera National Park
Akagera is home to a wide variety of animals, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros). Wake up to the golden hues of the African sunrise and set off on an early morning guided game drive through the vast savannah of Akagera National Park. An early morning game drive at Akagera National Park is a magical experience, offering the perfect opportunity to witness the park’s wildlife at its most active. As the sun rises over the park’s scenic landscapes, the cool morning air creates a serene atmosphere, ideal for spotting wildlife. Early mornings are when predators like lions and leopards are often on the move, hunting or resting after a night of activity. You may also observe elephants, giraffes, and buffaloes grazing in the early light, while the park’s vibrant birdlife, including African fish eagles and shoebill storks, come to life along the lakes and wetlands. During the game drive, you’ll have the opportunity to see these majestic animals in their natural habitat, along with other species like giraffes, zebras, hippos, warthogs, and antelope species.
Visit the cleanest City in Africa
After the game, drive to enjoy the scenic transfer to Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Rwanda is known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills." Kigali is considered the cleanest city in Africa. The city's cleanliness has earned it international recognition, particularly due to the government’s strict policies and efforts to maintain a clean, green environment.
Kigali Genocide Memorial: A Tribute to the Lives Lost and a Legacy of Hope
Here we visit Kigali’s Genocide Memorial and other important places. Kigali’s Genocide Memorial is one of Rwanda’s most important and poignant landmarks, dedicated to the memory of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. The memorial serves as a tribute to the hundreds of thousands of victims who lost their lives during the genocide, in which an estimated 800,000 people, mostly Tutsi and moderate Hutu, were killed in just 100 days. The memorial also includes a mass grave where over 250,000 victims are buried, and the site is a place of reflection and respect for those who perished. We will get a chance to experience the local cuisine in Kigali. Later we will transfer to Kigali International Airport on your way back home. Evening you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport on your way back home. Ethiopian Airways ET 806 departs to Addis Ababa at 17:40, with arrival in Addis Ababa at 21.05 hrs. Later Ethiopian airlines connect to Mumbai at 00.20.
