  • Life Time ‘Meeting of waters’ Experience in Amazon River
  • Here you will get a chance to see the greatest natural phenomenon on earth “Meeting of Waters” in the Amazon River. “Meeting of Waters” Manaus is a fascinating natural phenomenon where the dark-colored waters of the Rio Negro meet the sandy-colored waters of the Solimões River. The Solimões River and the Rio Negro, both major tributaries of the Amazon River, originate from different regions and have distinct characteristics. The Solimões River originates from the Andes Mountains of Peru and is characterized by its sandy-colored water due to the sediment it carries from the Andes Mountains. The Rio Negro originates from the Colombian Andes and is characterized by its dark, almost black colour, which is a result of the high concentration of tannins and organic material leached from vegetation as it flows through dense rainforest areas. Both the Solimões River and the Rio Negro are vital contributors to the Amazon River system, and their confluence near Manaus marks the beginning of the mighty Amazon River, which eventually flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The Meeting of the Waters is a spectacle of colors and an intriguing geographical phenomenon. The Rio Negro flows at a slower pace and originates from nutrient-poor black water tributaries, resulting in its dark color. In contrast, the Rio Solimões flows faster and carries a higher sediment load from its origins in the Andes Mountains, giving it a lighter, muddy appearance. This natural wonder offers a unique opportunity to witness the convergence of two major rivers and provides insight into the complex hydrological processes that shape the Amazon basin. At this crucial junction point, the two rivers – with different speeds, temperatures, and consistencies – run side by side for several kilometers without mixing, ultimately joining to form the great Amazon River. Passengers will feel the difference in temperature between the two distinct rivers. The phenomenon occurs due to differences in temperature, speed, and density of the two rivers.
  • Free time for Amazon River activities
  • After lunch, you will board a motorboat to fish and learn more about the infamous piranha as well as other Amazonian fishes. Free time for Piranha fishing and watching pink dolphins. The guide is then able to bring the Cayman aboard for participants to see. Afterward, the Cayman is returned to the river, unharmed. Then we will return to the lodge during sunset, which usually provides some of the most stunning views the Amazon has to offer.Later you will be taken to an educational Hiking in the Amazon Jungle. Our expert guide will introduce you to the wildlife of the Amazon. He will show you plants and describe their uses, as many are edible or medicinal. The paths implemented in exploration walks are constantly changed to avoid damaging the forest with overuse.
